What is the volunteering role?

What are the aims of this organisation/role?

Are you passionate about improving the lives of people with epilepsy? If you have epilepsy, a connection to someone who does, or just wish to use your voice to make the world a better place for those with epilepsy, we would welcome your support for our upcoming campaigns. You don't even need specialist technical knowledge, just have a willingness to get involved and be part of Epilepsy Action's activity and help to shape our campaigns. There are lots of ways to get involved as a campaign volunteer and influence decision makers.

What can volunteers expect to gain?

Opportunity to influence and be involved with Epilepsy Action campaigns that may go on to change the lives of people living with epilepsy. Opportunity to challenge government policies that impact people with epilepsy. Ability to choose campaigns that are most interesting to you. Develop valuable skills in communication, advocacy and community engagement that will benefit both your personal and professional life. Regular updates on campaign projects. Connect with other campaign volunteers and be part of a supportive network to share experiences and best practise.

What skills and abilities do I need to take on this role?

Strong understanding of what it's like to live with or care for someone with epilepsy and an appreciation of the challenges this brings. Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey campaign messages clearly. Good IT skills.

What is the time commitment of this role?

Flexible - a few hours a month.
