What is the volunteering role?

What are the aims of this organisation/role?

Age Cymru's HOPE project supports people to engage, participate, gain information, have their voices heard, understand their rights, make choices, be involved, share experiences, raise awareness of advocacy, and develop skills and knowledge.

What can volunteers expect to gain?

Students can expect to gain experience advocating for older people, either virtually or in-person. We will provide an in-depth advocacy training package, ongoing support from project staff, and Tempo Time Credits in exchange for volunteering hours.

What skills and abilities do I need to take on this role?

We are looking for people who want to support older people in their communities and across Wales, or who want to make a difference for older people by supporting them to have their voice heard.

Where is this opportunity based?

The Age Cymru office is based in Cardiff but all training will be undertaken over Zoom

What is the time commitment of this role?

Flexible/Hourly

Is a DBS check required?

Yes, an enhanced DBS is required. Age Cymru will help organise them and cover the cost.
