ACTAV8 is an amazing new student-led volunteering scheme run by Physiotherapy students, with the aim of getting the community active. The project is based at the TAV’s Community Centre and the Heath Park Campus and encourages disadvantaged individuals to get outside and explore their local area. ACTAV8’s main objective is to provide fun and memorable walks for these members of the community in and around Cardiff, helping to unite the wider community. Walking creates a positive and friendly atmosphere, boosting self-esteem and providing a sense of achievement for those who take part. The volunteers have also introduced new fitness classes to further benefit these members of the community. This is an exciting opportunity and an ideal way for Physiotherapy students to make their mark within Cardiff’s community.
Volunteers can contribute to the project by helping to plan and lead the walks and fitness classes, which take place on a monthly basis.
There is also a Lead Volunteer role available for this project!
