Forest Farm Conservation

Sunday 25 November 2018, 10am - 1pm

Forest Farm Radyr (Meeting at Cathays Station)

Event Information

Want to do some conservation work here in Cardiff?

Are you interested in the study of flora and fauna in their natural habitat? Forest Farm has a wide range of habitats including woodland, scrub, hay meadow, ponds and marshland that need to be maintained and conserved continously!

Come and join us at Forest Farm with the Cardiff Community Rangers for a couple of hours to help restore and maintain parts of this beautiful area.

*If this is your first time attending a session please let one of the committee members know.

GETTING THERE?

We are taking the train to RADYR from CATHAYS at 9:48am on 25/11/2018.

Please come 10 minutes in advance! (09:35am)

Train Tickets - Open return from Cathays-Radyr//Radyr-Cathays

  • With Railcard: £2.65
  • Without Railcard: £4.00

Going straight there?

- Meet in front of the Warden's Centre at Forest Farm

Returning - (12:56 or 13:37 are the main trains we can catch depending on when we finish)

WHAT TO WEAR?

Gumboots/hiking shoes are ideal footwear, but decent (not your fanciest prettiest) trainers/sneakers are acceptable too.

Do not turn up in sandals/flip-flops please.

- Long-sleeved tshirts are best to wear, to avoid scratches and cuts from unruly brambles and whatnot!

- Always bring a coat as this is Wales and we cannot guarantee "good" weather. But don't let it put you off coming - conservation is still fun even in the rain!

DISCLAIMER

Whilst under the supervison of Forest Farm community rangers you will be required to act appropriately as sharp and dangerous tools may be involved during sessions. Please respect this and consider other people's safety. Acting inappropriately may lead to you being asked to leave - this is under the consideration of the rangers in charge of the sessions.
