Event Information

If you are considering running for a committee position it is extremely important that you attend this event.

However, this event is not only for those interested in committee it's also vital that as many members as possible attend. The vote is in your hands, you have the power to shape next years committee and vote for candidates that you believe will represent the best interests of the society.  

Each nominee for committee roles will give a short speech, which will then be recorded and put on the Cardiff Students Union website and the Cardiff Anime Society youtube. Once we have complied together all the nominees, the nominations will go live on the Cardiff Students Union website and you can vote for your chosen nominees for next years committee. (Don't worry too much about being filmed it will only be accessible to people with a direct link on Youtube). 

The AGM will be at 6pm on the 03/03/17 at the Wallace Lecture Theatre in the Main Building and we'll continue with the Screening as per usual it will be Miss Kobayashi Dragon Maid for that week. 

President - Acting as the principal officer, spokesperson for the society and key contact with Cardiff University Students’ Union, the President leads and co-ordinates the Society, committee and members. They shall be responsible for the planning, organising and chairing of committee meetings and for protecting the interests of the Society in accordance with its aims and objectives 

Secretary - The Secretary’s prime function is to administrate the running of the Society, keep accurate records and communicate with the committee and society members (Your main duties will be sending out the weekly emails, booking rooms and minuting at meetings)

Treasurer - The Treasurer has responsibility for the financial affairs of the Anime Society, ensuring that Cardiff University Students’ Union Financial Guidelines are adhered to. They shall present the Society’s finances at a General Meeting of the Anime Society.

Screenings Officer - to provide regular and varied screenings of anime

Workshops Officer - to organise regular sessions of an activity related to anime, manga and Japan

Manga Library Officer - to store and record our library of anime and manga, and run the weekly Manga Library event

RAG Officer - to co-ordinate and organise various charity initiatives throughout the year (including running the tuck shop)

There are plenty of position's here that can be filled by you wonderful people so give it a go! One thing to keep in mind is that the President, Secretary and Treasurer must be different people and those roles must be filled in order for the society to continue to the next academic year.
