Think there's someone from Cardiff meant for you? That 'Mr/Mrs Right' is walking the streets of Cathays right now? Then come along to Y Plas at 7pm on Tuesday 27th October for an evening of speed dating! You might meet THE ONE... or just make some friends and have a laugh.
Why should I go?
Most people wouldn't dream of going speed dating. They'd be too embarrassed. As a result, whenever we run this event we consistently end up with 80-100 of the most confident, outgoing and attractive students in University. They generally don't care what people think because they appreciate that you're only young once. This is a crowd of people that you want to find yourself in.
A lot of people would never dream of walking up to someone they like and saying hello, but here it's kind of required. Without any supervision from us, nobody judges anyone, because they're having too much fun.
How does it work?
So you sign up online and get yourself to Y Plas at the right time. We'll give you a sticker number and a grid form and ask you write a message that you want given to anyone you match with, e.g. "Hey you matched with me! Give me text, 075......." or "Add me on Facebook! Here's my full name..."
You'll get two minutes to talk to each person. If you like the person you've spoken to, you note down their number. We'll compare everyones forms at the end of the night. The next day you'll receive a message from us to confirm who you matched with and we'll exchange the information you've given us. SImples.
