Wrth i ni gofio geiriau Dewi Sant, "Gwnewch y pethau bychain," mae Undeb Myfyrwyr Caerdydd yn ymfalchïo wrth adlewyrchu ar flwyddyn llawn gweithgareddau gwnaeth gyfoethogi profiad Cymraeg ein myfyrwyr a staff.
I ddathlu Dydd Gŵyl Dewi, bu Undeb Myfyrwyr Caerdydd yn dosbarthu picau ar y maen, cennin Pedr a thaflenni â geirfa Cymraeg cyffredin, er mwyn i unigolion di-gymraeg ddysgu ychydig o’r iaith ac ymgysylltu â diwylliant Cymru.
Mae’r daith i hyrwyddo’r iaith Gymraeg o fewn yr Undeb wedi bod yn un ysbrydoledig, ac rydym yn falch iawn rhannu’r camau rydym wedi’u cymryd wrth ddathlu diwylliant a hanes Cymru.
Eleni rydym wedi cynyddu presenoldeb yr iaith Gymraeg o fewn yr Undeb, gan alluogi unrhyw un sy’n ymweld i weld a defnyddio mwy o Gymraeg.
Rydym hefyd yn cymryd camau rhagweithiol trwy gynnig gwersi Cymraeg am ddim i’n staff ymroddgar, gan gydnabod pwysigrwydd grymuso ein cymuned gyda’r adnoddau i ymgysylltu yn Gymraeg.
Mae penodiad Deio Owen fel ein IL Iaith, Cymuned a Diwylliant Cymru wedi cynyddu’r defnydd o Gymraeg o fewn ein sefydliad, gan ei gwneud yn rhan graidd o’n hunaniaeth. Mae Deio wedi sicrhau fod baner Dewi Sant yn hedfan uwch Brif Adeilad y Brifysgol eleni, am y tro cyntaf mewn blynyddoedd diweddar.
Wrth fynegi ei falchder, dywedodd Deio Owen, "Mae’n wych gweld cynnydd mewn ymwybyddiaeth ac angerdd ynghylch yr iaith Gymraeg a diwylliant Cymru yn yr Undeb a’r Brifysgol. Mae bod yng nghanol y brifddinas yn beth arbennig iawn i ni, ac rydym yn hynod falch o’n hiaith, hanes a diwylliant.
“Mae’n wych gweld y Brifysgol yn hedfan baner Dewi Sant uwch y Prif Adeilad ac mae’n arwydd dda o ba mor bwysig yw bod yn Gymreig i’r Brifysgol. Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus!"
Cofiwch, gwnewch y pethau bychain, hyd yn oed os yw mor syml â phrynu cacen gri i rywun, neu ddweud “Shwmae”.

As we embrace Dewi Sant's words, "Gwnewch y pethau bychain (Do the little things)," Cardiff Students' Union proudly reflects on a year filled with activities that enrich the Welsh language experience for our staff and students.
To celebrate St. David’s Day, Cardiff Students’ Union has given out free Welsh cakes, daffodils and St. Davids’s Day awareness leaflets with common Welsh phrases, giving non-speakers the tools to learn and engage with each other in Welsh.
The journey to enhance our Welsh language has been nothing short of inspiring, and we are thrilled to share the strides we've made in celebrating Welsh culture and history.
This year we have increased the presence of Welsh language across our spaces within the Union, allowing everyone who steps into the union a chance to see and embrace more about Welsh language.
We are also taking proactive steps by offering free Welsh lessons for our dedicated staff, recognising the importance of empowering our community with the tools to engage in Welsh.
The appointment of Deio Owen as our VP Welsh Language, Community & Culture has increased the use of Welsh language within our organisation, making it a focal point of our identity. Deio has ensured that the St David's banner would fly above the University’s Main Building for the first time in recent years.
Deio Owen, in expressing his excitement, said, "It's great seeing the rise in awareness and passion around Welsh Language and Culture at both the Union and University here. Being in the heart of the capital is very special to us, and we're extremely proud of our language, history, and culture.
“It is great to see that the University flies the St David flag above the Main Building and it's a great sign of how important being Welsh is to the University, Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus!"
