Cultural Night: On a Universal Stage is the very first international cultural event in the Heath Campus. During the event, there will be booths set up by societies and restaurants selling various international cuisine. On top of that, we will have an array of cultural performances by our very own Cardiff student societies that will keep the crowd entertained for the night! This event is a fundraising charity for Oasis Cardiff, a non-profit organisation that helps Refugees and Asylum Seekers!
Cardiff Healthcare International PerspectiveS (CHIPS) is a society founded and run by international medical students. With the aim to promote and celebrate international culture in the healthcare community, this year, they're organising their first-ever Cultural Night at the Heath Campus on Friday 15th November 2019 at 18:00-21:00. "We envision 'Cultural Night: On a Universal Stage' to be an opportunity to display the different aspects of various cultures altogether in one location, the Heath Sports and Social Club. During the event, there will be booths set up by societies and restaurants selling various international cuisine. On top of that, we will have an array of cultural performances by our very own Cardiff student societies that will keep the crowd entertained for the night!
Cultural Night: On a Universal Stage, however, is more than celebrating culture. It is also an opportunity for us to give back to the community by raising funds for Oasis Cardiff, a charitable organisation that targets to help refugees and asylum seekers in Cardiff to integrate into our society.
Therefore, we would like to extend a warm invitation to you all to attend our Cultural Night.
Whether you’re coming from a long busy shift from work, a long day of lectures or tiring placement, you will be in for a treat of a night filled with culture, amazing food, and joyful entertainment! Most importantly, it is FREE ENTRY to the event – so you can spend your cash inside!
Whether you’re feeling curious to try different global cuisines specially cooked by our Cardiff University student societies (such as Bollywood Society, Russian Society, Hindu Society, Indonesian Society, Malaysian Society, ABACUS and many more...), come over and taste a wide range of cuisines (including desserts) from all around the globe!
Apart from getting all this food in one place, you will also be able to experience renowned cultural performances and exciting games too! Feel free to put on your traditional costumes if you have them!
We extend this invitation to EVERYONE, regardless of what course you’re doing, where you’re from, whether you are student or staff working in the UHW or Cochrane Building and Cardiff University students as this night is all about celebrating diversity!
