This is the Grand Finale of our Freshers' Week. The Ball is a chance for you to don your tuxedos and show off your sparkly dresses for a night to remember. This year, the ball will be doing an all-building takeover, with acts gracing the stages of the Great Hall and Y Plas. 

About our acts

Lethal Bizzle

Lethal Bizzle is the most prolific, exciting rapper to emerge from the UK underground scene. Quoted in the Guardian as the ‘best known rapper in the indie scene’, Lethal has been embraced by rock’s elite- working with Babyshambles and Gallows in the studio. Currently working on finishing off his brand new album, with producers including Donaeo, Mark Ronson, Dexplicit, Youngstar and Gallows.

Chris Stark 

Famed for his rather brilliant interviews with various celebrities on BBC Radio 1's Scott Mills show, plus, he's also got his own chat show on Channel 4 Virtually Famous. Chris Stark is also known as a DJ himself, and we really can't wait to meet him at our Freshers' Ball.

 

Duke Official

DUKE are a beatbox band like no other. Three voices, one guitar, NO backing tracks, looping or sampling to produce amazing covers. Check them out at @DukeOfficial

 

 

The Cradles 

The Cradles are a five piece rock band from Cardiff influenced by the likes of The Kinks, Pixies, The Strokes and The Beatles. They have been featured on BBC Radio 6, BBC Radio Wales and Nation Radio as well as numerous independent stations such as Showcase Wales, Radio KC, Radio Cardiff and Rock 101. They played over 70 live shows as well as having a single released by London-based label Vivid Riot Records.

 

The Showhawk Duo

Young British guitarists Mikhail Asanovic and Jake Wright, together known as The Showhawk Duo, have dazzled audiences worldwide with their spectacular approach to playing the guitar. They have re-thought the traditional musical structure creating their own all-encompassing genre. Whether Playing old-school trance classics or modern funky house, their live show knows no boundaries.

 

Loaded Jones

Loaded Jones are a three-piece from Cardiff, part of the New Wave of Welsh Rock, as heard of BBC Radio Wales and Nation Radio. Influenced by compatriots Manic Street Preachers as well as Red Hot Chili Peppers, QOTSA, The Clash, Supergrass, Rage Against The Machine and Radiohead, they are one of the most exciting rock bands around. 

 

Entry to this event will be with an All Inclusive Wristband or with a Freshers' Ball ticket. 

Freshers' All Inclusive Wristband

The Freshers' All Inclusive Wristband is the all-singing, all-dancing, big dog of the wristband world. We're talking access to every freshers' event in Y Plas nightclub, entry to the awesome Freshers' Ball, access to Give it a Go events* and a whole load of amazing freebies to go with it. We've got some cool acts lined up throughout the week to keep you going. Our Freshers' Ball is going to be bigger and better than ever before, so grab your mates and your best dress and hit the dancefloor to round off Freshers' Week in style.
