HAWL
Mae gan fyfyrwyr Caerdydd hawl i brofiad cyflawn naill ai drwy’r Gymraeg, y Saesneg neu gyfuniad o’r ddwy iaith. Mae gan fyfyrwyr Caerdydd hawl i Undeb wirioneddol ddwyieithog, nid mewn enw yn unig.
Er mwyn gwireddu’r hawl hwn, mae’n rhaid sicrhau cydraddoldeb rhwng ieithoedd; byddai pleidlais ‘IE’ yn gwneud yn union hynny.
Mae’r Gymraeg yn iaith swyddogol yng Nghymru, ac mae gan Brifysgol Caerdydd fwy o siaradwyr Cymraeg nag unrhyw brifysgol arall yn y byd!
LLAIS
Mae’r Gymraeg, ei siaradwyr a’r rhai sy’n ei dysgu angen llais. Llais sy’n deall, llais fydd yn gallu dy gynrychioli di drwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg, o flwyddyn i flwyddyn; llais llawn-amser.
Byddai swyddog sabothol ar gyfer y Gymraeg yn cynnig llais rhagweithiol i gyd-weithio â’r Brifysgol a’r Undeb ar bob penderfyniad ac ar y lefelau uchaf.
Byddai swyddog sabothol ar gyfer y Gymraeg yn cryfhau llais pob myfyriwr, gan arwain at benderfyniadau gwell a chynrychiolaeth fwy cyflawn i bawb.
CYFLE
Dyma gyfle i bawb: mae’r Gymraeg yn perthyn i bob myfyriwr, os ydynt yn siarad Cymraeg ai peidio. Byddai swyddog sabothol ar gyfer y Gymraeg yn dathlu amrywiaeth ddiwylliannol Prifysgol Caerdydd, sydd mewn safle arbennig fel sefydliad rhyngwladol, dwyieithog ac amlieithog.
Mae pleidlais ‘IE’ yn gyfle i wella a datblygu cymdeithasau Cymraeg, er mwyn diwallu anghenion pob siaradwr Cymraeg.
Gydag ‘IE’, gallwn ddatblygu llwyfan gynaliadwy ar gyfer cyfryngau myfyrwyr Cymraeg, gan alluogi myfyrwyr i gymryd rhan a chreu drwy’r Gymraeg.
Byddai ‘IE’ yn sicrhau bod y rhai sydd am ddysgu neu wella eu Cymraeg yn cael bob cyfle a chefnogaeth i wneud hynny.
Byddai Is-Lywydd y Gymraeg yn creu Undeb lle bo’r Gymraeg yn perthyn i bawb.
Dywedwch ‘IE’ dros brofiad myfyriwr mwy cyflawn.
‘YES’: Right. Voice. Opportunity.
RIGHT
Cardiff students have a right to a full student experience through the medium of either Welsh, English or both. Cardiff students have the right to a truly bilingual Union, not one that simply speaks of it.
In order to turn this right into a reality, equality of languages must be achieved; a ‘YES’ vote will do just that.
Welsh is an official language in Wales. Cardiff University has the highest number of Welsh speakers in any university in the world!
VOICE
The Welsh language, its speakers and its learners need a voice. A voice that understands, a voice that can represent you through the medium of Welsh, year on year: an elected voice; a full-time voice.
A sabbatical officer for the Welsh language would offer a proactive voice to work with the Union and University on every decision and at the highest levels.
A sabbatical officer for the Welsh language would strengthen the voice of every student, leading to better informed decisions and better representation for all.
OPPORTUNITY
This is an opportunity for everyone: the Welsh language belongs to every student, whether they speak it or not. A sabbatical officer for the Welsh language would celebrate the cultural diversity of Cardiff University’s unique position as an international, bilingual and multilingual institution.
A ‘YES’ vote is an opportunity to grow Welsh medium societies, in order to cater for the needs and interests of all Welsh speakers.
With ‘YES’, we can develop a sustainable Welsh language student media platform, allowing participation and creativity in Welsh.
A ‘YES’ would ensure every support and opportunity for those wanting to learn Welsh or improve their Welsh language skills.
A VP Welsh language would create a Union where the Welsh language belongs to everyone.
