About

I'm Hannah, I am twenty one years old and I'm your LGBT+ Women's Officer for the year! I am in my third year of studies in English Literature with History and I am an avid campaigner for equal rights. As an active member of the LGBT+ community myself, I am heavily involved with LGBT+ issues at Cardiff and I am committed to ensuring that students here are treated equally, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation.

I believe that university should be a space in which students feel free to express themselves, where they can live authentically without fear of discrimination, and as LGBT+ Women's Officer, I would like to ensure that all students feel comfortable enough to come to me and raise any concerns they may have - I'm a pretty open and approachable person, so drop me an email, a tweet, or a message any time! You'll usually find me reading in one of the humanities buildings or somewhere in the Students' Union, please don't hesitate to approach me with regards to any LGBT+ related concerns you have - or general queries on student welfare!

I look forward to being your LGBT+ Women's Officer for the year!

My priorities for this year include:

  • Continuing the work put in place by former VP Welfare Nick Fox and former LGBT+ Women's officer Taz Jones towards implementing gender neutral toilet facilities across the entirety of campus.
  • Ensuring that more students are made aware of the services available at the Students' Union, with regards largely to LGBT+ issues and concerns, by working closely with the LGBT+ Association, CU Pride, and SHAG.
