About My Role

The Women’s Officer role is to represent female students interests and to campaign on any relevant issues.

About Me

Hi everyone, my name’s Niamh and I’m your Women’s Campaign Officer! I’m currently in my third year of studying neuroscience and love being an active member in the Student’s Union. I’ve spent the majority of my life growing up in a small town, Andover, which is in Hampshire, but I’ve always wanted to move to a bigger pond. Coming to Cardiff has really been a great experience and has shown me what city-life is all about.

My involvement with the Students' Union started by volunteering to be part of the Welcome Team which gave me a number of opportunities to better myself and the experience of other students. This then led to me running to be a Campaign Officer and has given me the chance to represent students and bring awareness to the issues you face. There are so many ways in which you can involve yourself with the Students' Union – the possibilities are endless!

I’ll end by saying that I’m absolutely delighted to be your Women’s Campaign Officer and if you have any issues, please don’t hesitate to contact me!

My main priorities for the year include:

  • Bring back the Women’s Association and start a committee to make campaigning more effective.
  • To highlight the issues that females at Cardiff University face, and to be an advocate for change.
