Meet the Captains

Competing in the Welsh Varsity tournament is so much more than performing on the day. It takes months of preparation and dedication to your chosen sport. Meet some of the captains and presidents that are going above and beyond to bring home the coveted Welsh Varsity Shield and Cup this year.

Marcus Isaac

Marcus is president of the Cardiff Cobras American Football team. He talked to us about how he got involved in playing American Football and what it takes to be part of the team.

Vicky Perrio

Vicky captains the women's fencing team. She discusses the work that it takes to succeed in fencing and the polite nature of what is a violent sport.

Jack McGrath

Jack is the captain of the men's rugby team that will be competing in Varsity at the Principality Stadium. He's been playing rugby since he was 11 years old and it's become his primary sport over the last decade.
