The SU is the place to come when you arrive in Cardiff. From Monday 25th September, we’re hosting our Freshers’ Fairs so you can load up on freebies and get to know our 200+ societies, 60+ sports clubs and volunteering team!

Explore the campus, the city and beyond with Give it a Go who offer a variety of tours of campus and day trips to places such as Cardiff Castle and Barry Island.
Look out for our social fun events popping up around the building - we’re offering lots to choose from including cosy film nights, crazy golf, zorb football and laser tag.
Our legendary in-house pub The Taf will be reopening its doors after the Summer break with delicious food, awesome drinks deals and exciting evening events! Y Plas Nightclub will also be back for another incredible year! If clubnights aren’t for you, they have plenty of other events to get involved with! From challenging Escape Rooms to a huge sing-a-long Massoke, there's something for everyone!
We are home to the only official Cardiff University Freshers’ club nights, brought to you in style in our very own nightclub called Y Plas. All our events are tailored specifically to our amazing students, so get ready to meet a lot of new faces on the dancefloor and behind the bar! Experience the return of legendary student club nights, YOLO and JUICE and get involved with Freshers’ traditions like Bingo Lingo.
We have a huge community of students taking part in our activities here in Cardiff. Whether you want to play sport, join a society, volunteer your time in the community, or contribute to our award-winning student media, you’re coming to the right place.
Our Give it a Go team offer hundreds of taster sessions during September and October so you can try out our clubs and societies before you decide.
