Explore the city around you and beyond with Give it a Go who offer a variety of day trips to places such as Cardiff Castle and Barry Island. Give it a Go are also behind our taster sessions, so if you see a club or society that piques your interest but you’re not quite sure, you can sign up to one of their sessions.
Need to take a break and slow down for a while? Keep your eyes peeled for The Big Unwind happening over the weekends where you can get away from the bustle and meet people in a quieter space.
Over the Summer, we’ve been working on an upgrade to our legendary in-house pub, The Taf. We’ll be opening the doors on the new look this September with delicious food, awesome drinks deals and exciting evening events! Known as your friendly student local, The Taf hosts weekly events from Tapas Tuesdays, live sport, live music and the popular Taf Quiz. This September will also see the return of The Taf’s epic Sunday Roast, a must-have after a Saturday night in Y Plas! The Taf opens it's doors for the year on Thursday 15th September!
This Freshers’ Fortnight you can also experience a variety of evening events away from the club night shenanigans and a number of alcohol-free events, including our new Silent Cinema, laser tag, crazy golf and a roller disco.
We are home to the official Cardiff University Freshers’ club nights, brought to you in style in our very own nightclub, Y Plas. All of our events are tailored specifically to our amazing students, so get ready to meet a lot of new faces on the dancefloor and behind the bar; seriously, you won’t find an adult for miles! We are also home to one of the longest bars in Wales and known for our status as number 1 consumer for VK in the in the Universe!
This September we’ll be hosting a range of events where you can dance the night away until the early hours, this year we’re going all out. Experience the return of legendary student club nights, YOLO and JUICE and get involved with Freshers’ traditions like Ice Breaker and Bingo Lingo.
