Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland is back for 2018 with more rides, more attractions and lots of festive spirit to go around. If you still haven’t had the chance to go and explore it in all its glory, then make sure you head on down even if it’s just for a bite to eat and a warm hot chocolate. Cardiff University’s Carols at Christmas

The best way to spread Christmas cheer is by singing loud for all to hear. That’s exactly what the School of Music is doing this year at the annual Carols Around the Christmas Tree. Join them on Monday 17th December from 12:30 – 13:00 at the VJ Gallery, Main Building and help them to raise some money to support Cardiff University researchers in neuroscience and mental health.

Panto

The tale as old as time is heading to the stage this Christmas. You and your friends could go and see the brilliant Beauty and the Beast pantomime at the New Theatre. For tickets and information click here.

 

Sport

With the Autumn Rugby internationals over you might be in need of a little top up of rugby to get you through the Christmas period. Cardiff Blues have a number of home game fixtures over December and January that you can go and see with tickets starting at only £14 for Students. This one is not to be missed for all you sporting fans.

 

Bute and Roath Park

Cardiff is beautiful in the winter, so why not have a wander through Bute or Roath Park? We know a lot of you will have lots of revision to do over the Christmas holidays, but it’s really important that you take a break from studying and get a bit of fresh air. Cardiff is really picturesque at this time of year with the frosty leaves and a blanket of mist covering the city, you’ll definitely be able to get a few Instagram likes with one of those shots. Why not take a flask of coffee or hot chocolate with you to keep you warm? It’ll save you spending money as well!

Caerphilly Castle

Want to explore outside of Cardiff? Why not head up the road to the beautiful Caerphilly Castle. It’s only a short train ride away and you can explore the old ruins of Caerphilly’s once glorious castle. The best part is that over the Christmas period this wonderful castle is transformed into another beautiful winter wonderland with twinkling lights and a sparkling Christmas tree.
