Graduation should be one of the proudest days of a student’s life. Celebrating your achievements at the end of your studies is a key part of the student experience.

Whilst many aspects of the graduation events have been enjoyed and run smoothly, significant parts of the graduation have cast a negative light over the remainder of the day for some of our students/alumni, most notably, the gowning and photography. This has, in turn, tainted some of our students' graduation experience, specifically the class of 2020. For this reason we will be demanding compensation for those students who were significantly affected by this.

We recognise the hard work put in by university staff who have been let down by the external contractors and are very thankful to the individuals who have worked tirelessly to try and improve the situation. However, a significant proportion of our graduates did not receive the graduation experience they expected.

We are working with the University closely on this and should you wish to, you can raise any concerns in the University complaints portal. Please note that the University have specified a 28 day deadline for students to engage with this process.

If you would like independent advice on raising any concerns or dissatisfaction to the University, our Student Advice Service are available to provide advice and guidance on the complaints process. You can contact Student Advice on Advice@cardiff.ac.uk

Going forward if you have anything you would like to raise with your Sabbatical Officer Team, please email us.

Dylai graddio fod yn un o ddiwrnodau mwyaf balch eich bywyd fel myfyriwr. Mae dathlu eich cyflawniadau ar ddiwedd eich astudiaethau yn rhan allweddol o’ch profiad fel myfyrwyr.

Er bod llawer o agweddau ar y digwyddiadau graddio wedi cael eu mwynhau a'u rhedeg yn esmwyth, mae rhannau sylweddol o'r seremoni raddio wedi cael effaith negyddol ar weddill y dydd i rai o'n myfyrwyr/cyn-fyfyrwyr, yn benodol, y gwisgoedd graddio a’r ffotograffiaeth. Mae hyn, yn ei dro, wedi llygru rhywfaint o brofiad graddio ein myfyrwyr, yn benodol dosbarth 2020. Am y rheswm hwn, byddwn yn mynnu iawndal i'r myfyrwyr hynny yr effeithiwyd arnynt yn sylweddol gan hyn.

Rydym yn cydnabod gwaith caled staff y Brifysgol sydd wedi cael eu siomi gan y contractwyr allanol, ac rydym yn ddiolchgar iawn i'r unigolion sydd wedi gweithio'n ddiflino i geisio gwella'r sefyllfa. Fodd bynnag, ni chafodd cyfran sylweddol o'n graddedigion y profiad graddio yr oeddent yn ei ddisgwyl.

Rydym yn gweithio'n agos gyda'r Brifysgol ar hyn ac os dymunwch, gallwch godi unrhyw bryderon ym mhorth cwynion. y Brifysgol. Sylwer bod y Brifysgol wedi pennu terfyn amser o 28 diwrnod i fyfyrwyr ymgymryd â'r broses hon.

Os hoffech gael cyngor annibynnol ynglyn â chodi unrhyw bryderon neu anfodlonrwydd gyda’r Brifysgol, mae ein Gwasanaeth Cyngor i Fyfyrwyr ar gael i roi cyngor ac arweiniad am y broses gwyno. Gallwch gysylltu â Chyngor i Fyfyrwyr drwy e-bostio Advice@cardiff.ac.uk

Wrth symud ymlaen, os oes gennych unrhyw beth yr hoffech ei godi gyda'ch Tîm Swyddogion Sabothol, anfonwch e-bost atom.
