Join us for a talk by Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, who will share information with us about their award-winning Peer Mentor Development Team. This service works in partnership with Peer Mentors to provide experience and strength based support to help people through perinatal mental health difficulties.

Peer mentoring is described as the process by which an individual shares their lived experience with others who may be new to that experience. Peer mentoring aims to increase feelings of hope and empower current service users in maintaining well-being, supporting and walking alongside individuals in their wellness focused journey.

This talk coincides with Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week this year, and is a great chance to raise awareness for pregnancy related mental health challenges.

The talk will include:

  • An insight into what peer support is, and it's value in maternity services.
  • An understanding of perinatal mental health difficulties, and how to support people through this.
  • First hand accounts from peer-mentors themselves.
  • A certificate for attending.
