Leaving the SU at 6pm on Friday 8th November, the annual Peaks Trip begins!
This trip will be mostly trad climbing but we're going to make sure we're able to take a variety of abilities! Also I've been told some of the bouldering mats are being snuck into the minibus so that's an option too for those interested.
- They'll be a stop off at big Tesco before leaving Cardiff to stock up on snacks for the journey. (maybe a Taly pick up? could be nice to them?)
- Price is £35 for the whole weekend - includes accomodation, fuel, dinner, kit etc
- Saturday evening meal is included in the price
- Accomodation has 16 bunk beds (committee and leaders get first dibs) and a couple of big rooms we can sleep in - TSG Chapel Hut, Castleton (https://www.tsgcaving.co.uk/content/tsg-hut-brochure)
- Accomodation is NOT the Scout Hut (but there's definitely an area where we can play sock wrestling without any head injuries!)
- Full kitchen in the Hut so no need to take cutlery/bowls unless you want it for lunch at the crag.
- NO CAMPING
- If you're not coming up on the club minibuses, you're welcome to join us at the hut if you let us (Becca) know if you want feeding at least a couple of days before.
What to bring
- Sleeping bag
- Sleeping mat (Freshers are on the floor)
- Any and all climbing gear you own (harness, belay, helmet, shoes, etc)
- Layers!! Lots of warm layers - fleeces, jackets, warm trousers
- Hat, gloves & scarf(optional but recommended)
- Appriopriate outdoor climbing clothing - make sure you can still climb in the layers!
- Water proof clothing - to protect you from the wind and rain, trust me you'll want it
- Boots/trainers for walking
- Money for breakfast & lunch
- Water bottle & snacks
- Rucksack
- Pjs, toiletries and all the usual staying overnight stuff
