Event Information

Situated in the heart of South-East Asia is Malaysia; a tropical country rich in heritage with diverse cultures. Apart from the unique and authentic local cuisine, Malaysia is also well-known for its own set of legendary myths that have been passed down from generations to generations for hundreds of years.

Set in eastern Malaysia on the Borneo island, Puteri Santubong and Puteri Sejinjang are the bravest warrior princesses, eternally revered by the people of Sarawak. This tale revolves around two warrior princesses who quelled the cries of war in Sarawak. However, peace was fleeting as it was torn apart by their infatuation with supremacy and affection. Will their love for each other triumph over their yearning for love, or will they not stop until either one's defeat? The fate of the Sarawakians are at risk- will the warrior princesses sustain it or will they let their hatred get in the way?

For its fifteenth instalment, the Malaysian Students’ Society of Cardiff University (MSSCF) would like to present an original musical production: The Borneo Princesses. This epic English musical production will unpack the rich culture of Malaysia, manifested in various forms of arts and music native to our land.

The production will take place at St David’s Hall, Cardiff which is ranked among the Top 10 of the World’s Best-Sounding Concert Hall according to the leading media website Business Insider UK.
