Global Gardens First session back
After a lot of bramble clearing last semester, we’re excited for spring to emerge and bring with it longer days, warmer weather and more varied jobs in the garden.
Welcome back to volunteers and for anyone new/interested, here’s a little bit about the project:
Global Gardens is a community growing project that aims to bring members of the community together through gardening and the sharing of food and culture. As well as gardening sessions, the project also runs regular creative workshops for volunteers (on things like gardening, willow weaving, cooking, creative writing…) and relaxed monthly meals, where volunteers get together for nourishing, wholesome meals made using produce from the garden.
We volunteer at the garden on Saturdays from 2-5pm. It’s a really flexible project, volunteers are welcome to come to sessions whenever it suits them. We meet outside the SU half an hour before the session begins and walk up to the garden together, but volunteers are also welcome to meet directly at the garden at 2pm.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you’re interested or have any questions and we can add you to the Whatsapp/Facebook groups.
