Anime Screening: The Tale of Princess Kaguya

Friday 04 October 2019, 6pm - 8:30pm

Wallace Lecture Theatre, Main Building

Event Information

From the makers of 'Spirited Away' and 'My Neighbour Totoro' comes Studio Ghibli's award-winning 2013 film 'The Tale of Princess Kaguya'. It retells an old Japanese folktale of a girl found in a stick of bamboo. Believing her to be a gift from the heavens, the nearby Japanese village raises her to be a princess. Isao Takahata's film has a striking art style and exists as a pleasant rendition of an old story which will draw you into the unique and wonderful world of Japanese anime.

This will the first of Anime Society's weekly Friday screenings. What better way to end the week then to chill out with some friends and watch anime. If you aren't sure where the Wallace Lecture Theatre is just wait outside the entrance of the Main Building at 18:00 and someone will be there to direct you over. We hope to see you there!
