FareShare Food Collection Volunteer:

This opportunity takes place between 21 Nov 2019 and 23 Nov 2019 Applications closed on 20 Nov.

Volunteer to fight hunger Thursday 21, Friday 22 and Saturday 23rd November 2019. Sign up at: https://fareshare.org.uk/tescofoodcollection/ This winter join Team FareShare at the nation’s biggest food drive to help fight hunger in the UK. You can make a big difference to the 8.4 million people currently living in food poverty in the UK, as donating just three hours to help collect food on any of the days above, could collect enough food for 600 meals! You will be in store handing out FareShare 'shopping lists' with suggested donations. Sign up as an individual or bring your colleagues, family and friends with you. Imagine, just give three hours of your time and in a morning or afternoon you could collect enough tins, cans and store-cupboard staples for 600 meals for people in need. What you’ll be doing By collecting donations from shoppers at your local Tesco store, you will be part of a nationwide team of heroes fighting hunger from Lands End to John O’Groats. Together we can make a big difference to some of the 8.4 million people struggling to afford to eat in the UK this winter. Who you’ll be helping We’ll deliver the food you collect to homeless hostels, refuges, older people’s lunch clubs, children’s breakfast clubs and other charities working with people in need. It will be combined with the fresh surplus food, such as meat and vegetables, that we receive from the food industry. Most of this surplus is fresh so we need you to help us collect those long-life items to make a nutritionally balanced meal for someone. Let’s do something TIN-credible and make this the biggest collection ever. Why volunteer? Make a practical difference in the fight against UK hunger by volunteering just 3 hours this winter Take part in a worthwhile event with a team of friends at your local Tesco store, challenge each other to see who can collect the most food. Have the opportunity to play an active and positive role in your local community by encouraging people to donate. Invite your friends, family, colleagues, neighbours, sports club, book club (any kind of club) to take part in an engaging and worthwhile event.
