Do I have to study German to join? 

Absolutely not! We welcome anyone and everyone with an interest in German language or culture, not matter if you engage with it in your academic life or not. We'd love to have you. 

Can I join as an Erasmus student? 

Of course -  our society isn't limited to just home students or those studying in Cardiff for their whole degree. Whether you're here for a semester, or four years, you can get involved. This includes German native speakers. In this case, the German society could be a great way to meet British students who you've already got something in common with. Some of us can even chat to you in German, if it helps you feel more at home. 

Is the German society new this year?

You might have noticed that our whole committee is made up of first years, which is quite unusual for a society. This is because the previously thriving German society of 2020/2021 suffered an unfortunate fate during the pandemic, leaving  us on the 'Save a Society' list. This is our version of a revived society and we're all ears to ideas of what you want it to be. 

Can I join in any year group? 

Yep, anyone can join, no matter what year you're in.
