Jobshop

Jobshop is responsible for providing all kinds of amazing part-time and temporary paid work for our students which will fit around their studies. It represents an essential service for many students, not just as a source of extra income, but also in terms of valuable work experience which will enhance their future employability. The Jobshop team is committed to finding a constant supply of new and exciting paid opportunities, both within the University, Students' Union and with a range of local employers.

A wide and varied range of work is offered, from basic admin to helping out at major local events, such as international rugby games or stadium concerts. Jobshop is a hectic, fast-paced environment where no two days are the same - it can be hard work, but is also a lot of fun!

Typical Roles

Jobshop Coordinator

This role involves managing the recruitment of student staff, dealing with external clients and the advertising of paid work opportunities, as well as running specific individual Jobshop-related projects and general admin duties.

Jobshop Administrator

This role involves conducting face to face pre-employment checks, helping with the recruitment of student staff and the advertising of paid work opportunities, as well as running specific individual Jobshop-related projects and general admin duties.

What we're looking for

We’re looking for people who are enthusiastic, committed and as passionate about the student employment sector as we are! You will need to be a self-motivated multi-tasker who is able to switch focus at the drop of a hat when required. Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail are paramount, in addition to excellent communication skills and a high standard of written English. As well as all this, you will need a sense of humour and a willingness to go the extra mile in order to provide our students with the best service possible!
