While Postgraduate Students are welcomed into the Students' Union, next door is the Graduate Centre that offers extra space for Postgraduate Students to socialise and study in a comfortable environment.
The Graduate Centre has a bar and coffee lounge (with newspapers), a reading room, an computer room, and meeting rooms. Any postgraduate can book a meeting room (equipped with a computer and Powerpoint projector) for seminars or group study, especially useful at the weekends and evenings when these facilities aren't always available in departments.
The Graduate Centre organises regular evening events including film nights and an Open-Mic night. With cheap drinks and a nice atmosphere, these evenings allow Postgraduate students to take some time out from their studies and socialise with other students.
The Graduate Centre also organises coach trips and plays host to a wide variety of skills workshops on topics ranging from project management to finding the right career. Make sure you read their Graduate Centre Bulletin for full listings of the events.
