These are all part-time and paid positions on the Students' Union Executive Committee, which students may undertake alongside their degree for one academic year.
Whilst we do officially state that the elected non-sabbatical officers begin their term in office in September 2008, some roles do require some advance preparation. We would recommend that, where possible, the incoming elected non-sabbatical officers make themselves available to receive a handover from their predecessor before the summer holidays.
Please note that our constitution states that the 'constituent' officers do not have to be 'self-defining' - what this means is that you do not have to self-define as a mature student/postgraduate student/female student/lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender student/student with disabilities in order to stand for the relevant representative role. However, the National Union of Students (which operates according to its own constitution) states that constituent officers do have to be self-defining, and so any constituent officers who do not self-define will be unable to attend NUS events in their usual representative capacity.
