How do I buy one?

There are two very easy ways of getting yourself a NUS Extra Card, and the good news is it’ll only set you back £10. Either come into the Students’ Union over Freshers week and buy it at the NUS Extra Unit (on the Ground Floor, next to the Jobshop) or do it in the comfort of your own home. There are just a few things to remember first:

Buying Online at Home
  • You can buy your card at www.nusextra.co.uk
  • Make sure you choose “Cardiff University Students’ Union” from the list of Universities.
  • For the photo that appears on your card you must have either a webcam or a suitable photo that you can upload from your computer – for guidelines of what is a suitable photo see the NUS Extra Website
  • You can only pay by debit/credit card.
  • You have to have your card delivered to the Union so we can check that you’re a student! When you receive your email informing you it has arrived, pop into the NUS Extra Unit in the Union, bringing proof that you’re a student (Cardiff University Student Card, your enrolment forms or your Residences Card if you live in Halls). You will then receive both your National and Local Discount Booklets.
Buying at the Union
  • Remember to bring proof that you are a student at Cardiff University. This can be your Cardiff University Student Card, your enrolment forms or your Residences Card if you live in Halls.
  • You will have your photo taken at the unit for your card, so be prepared!
  • You can pay either by cash or card, so make sure you have one of the two.
  • You can choose to have your card delivered to your home address or the Union for collection.
  • If you choose to collect it at the Union, you will receive an email about a week later informing you it has been delivered. Come back to the NUS Extra area to collect your card as well as your National and Local Discount Booklets.
