James Wheeler
A statement written by a student who nominated James:
More and more people know about One water & Two Distribute.
One of the founders of Two Distribute is James. He decided that watching Africans die was not quite good enough. The solution came with One water, which finances the construction of pumps in Africa. Two Distribute was created to distribute One water!
James spent the year developing the business, finding clients and getting money (for the business of course)!
When you look around in lectures, more and more students drink One water, and that's thanks to Two Distribute.
Two Distribute has more and more clients, and that's thanks to James.
Jo & Ed, the Union's “bosses” are well aware of who James is, as quite a number of meetings took place throughout the year, and Two Distribute could never have grown the way it did without their active support. Which is why, ladies and gentlemen from the selection committee, I think all questions should be directed to your Chair.
A number of glowing comments were made by the judging panel:
"The innovative way in which James approached an important issue is extraordinary and shows a level of creativity and drive to help others that deserves great praise". Professer Teresa Rees, Pro Vice Chancellor for Staff and Students.
"The fact that James has not only done great work to serve his fellow students, through Nightline, but has approached a massive issue of global significance and made a difference is remarkable".
Sir Donald Walters
