I'm Bob Keohane
I am the student Liaison Officer for the City of Cardiff. I have been in this post for the last eight years. It is my job to liase between students, staff, residents and police to ensure your time in Cardiff is safe and trouble free. |
Essentially I will be the Police Officer you will speak to in anything other than an emergency situation. So if you want crime prevention advice or to organise a football match against the police I'm the person to contact.
I work at Cardiff Central Police Station, situated in the civic centre. I can also be contacted on the third floor of the Students Union building Park Place every Thursday between 13.00-15.00 during term time.
During my time in this role I have dealt with numerous problems that students encounter, so if I cannot help you, I will probably know someone who can.
We estimate that there are over thirty thousand students in Cardiff. This constitutes nearly ten per cent of the total population, so your concerns are our concerns. We are used to looking after student problems and all police are here to help you.
I work closely with the Security department at Cardiff University and patrol the student areas to ensure your personal safety, protect your property and occasionally ask you to keep the noise down or put that road sign back.
The purpose of this site is to give you crime prevention advice and highlight crimes where students have been victims so that you can take preventative measures yourself.
Please check the 'weekly news' link giving up to date information on local crimes.
Please do not hesitate to contact me.
