What is a Schengen visa?
The Schengen Visa Scheme allows Non-EEA nationals to obtain just one visa to visit all the EEA member countries of the Schengen agreement.
What countries are members of the Schengen agreement?
The following countries are members:

Where should I apply for a Schengen visa?
If you wish to visit the Schengen region you should apply for a schengen visa either to
- the embassy or consulate of the country which will be your main destination
- the embassy or consulate of the first schengen country you will enter first if you are plan to spend about the same amount of time in numerous Schengen countries.
You can obtain a single or a multiple entry Schengen visa. It can be issued for a maximum of 90 days.
The majority of embassies request applicants to attend an appointment at the embassy itself and expect you to book an appointment in advance either via telephone or the internet.
How long will it take to obtain a Schengen visa?
The Schengen visa application process varies considerably, with the passports of certain nationals being sent to authorities in the Schengen sate itself before a visa is issued.
It is advisable to make enquiries well in advance of your trip. For example, you may be expected to have a passport which is valid for at least three months longer than your proposed trip. Also, many embassies expect you to have confirmed travel and accommodation arrangements.
How much does it cost to apply for a Schengen visa?
The Schengen visa fee varies between embassies but you can expect to pay between £25- £40.
