** If you are a full-time student attending a scheme of study for at least 24 weeks of an academic year, the University Registry will issue you with a Council Tax Exemption Certificate in November, sent to your term time address. You will not be sent a certificate if you live in University accommodation as they are exempt from Council Tax.
**From April 2004 full time students are not liable for Council Tax even if they share a dwelling with non-students.
**If you are a PhD student in the process of 'writing up', you will be liable for Council Tax.
