A large amount of waste issues and bins are left on the streets in the area of Cathays and after collection off the student union on Senghenydd road. On Monday 26th January 2015, the City of Cardiff Council Waste Management department will be issuing Section 46 notices to every household on 12 streets in Cathays, as listed below.

The notice sets out the requirements of the waste disposal service that occupiers are required to adhere to, as detailed below. Following receipt of the notice, if occupiers fail to adhere to the service they will be presented with a £100 fixed penalty notice.

Under the provisions of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 following receipt of this Notice the residents will be required by law to comply with the arrangements for placing their waste out for collection in the appropriate containers (household / residual waste in black receptacles and  recyclables in green bags and food waste in brown kerbside caddy). The residents will place their specified receptacles out for collection on Tuesday evening for a Wednesday collection and returning them to their property after collection or no later than 9am the next day. Also it will state that no side waste will be collected on bin streets.

They  will delay the delivery of notices until Monday 26th January 2015.
