The Education and Research Caseworker based in the Advice and Representation Centre provides representation for students facing an appeal or undergoing unfair practice, disciplinary or complaint procedures.
What I might be able to help you with
- Student Disciplinary procedure (i.e. if you've been accused of unacceptable behaviour under the University set of codes and regulations)
- Students' Fitness to Practise Procedure (i.e. if you've been deemed unfit to practice, usually nurses, doctors, social workers, etc...)
- Unfair Practice Procedure (i.e. if you've been accused of cheating, plagiarism, collusion)
- Academic Progress Procedure (i.e. failure to attend classes, examinations, field work, placements, practicals, or failure to deliver projects and coursework without a valid reason).
- Verification and Appeal Procedure (if you want to appeal of a decision made by your Examination Board or equivalent)
- Complaint procedure (if you are unhappy about an aspect of your academic experience and want to put a formal complaint against the University, your school or a member of staff)
- Appeal in front of the Office of the Independent Adjudicator (if you have exhausted the University internal procedures and are still not happy with the outcome)

The first appointment will usually last 1 hour. Any subsequent appointment will be for 30 minutes.
Appointments are available weekdays between the hours of 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. in the Advice and Representation Centre, 3rd floor of the Students' Union, Park place, CF10 3QN. Appointments in the Med Club (Heath campus) can be arranged to suit your needs.
