All students will receive a letter from the Clinical School detailing accommodation. Students are usually accommodated in Swansea University. Accommodation units for medical students within Swansea NHS Trust are located within the halls of residence at the University College of Wales, Swansea situated adjacent to the Singleton Hospital site. Keys can be collected from the Porter at Lewis Jones Block, University College of Wales, Swansea. Information regarding students' accommodation will come from the Swansea Clinical School administration office. Students can contact the office on 01792 703570.The University accommodation office is situated on the University campus and will deal with any enquiries during the students' stay. The accommodation office can be contacted on 01792 259101.
What Students need to bring
Bedding is provided but students are responsible for bringing their own cutlery and cooking utensils. A toaster and a microwave is provided, students are also responsible for their own laundry.Facilities
SportsThe University has a modern indoor sports centre a short walk from campus, it includes a two-court sports hall, three squash courts, a swimming pool, fitness suite and first aid room.
The Pavilion building incorporates changing rooms for outdoor games, a gymnasium and an outdoor Pursuits store.
Library and Information Centre Facilities

University Health Centre
There is a National Health Medical practice under the direction of Dr M A Sansbury, on campus in Fulton House. The practice is open to students living within two miles of the University. They can be contacted on 01792 295321
Hospital Chaplaincy
The Trust has a full time Chaplin in addition to other part time members of the ecumenical team, representing the Church in Wales, Free Church and Roman Catholic Church. They are available to students for support and advice on religious and ethical matters.

The University has campus-based Chaplains of the following Christian denominations: Anglican (Church of Wales), Baptist, Methodist, Roman Catholic and United Reformed Church. They offer informal counselling and advice
Mosque
The University Mosque is situated on the Main Campus, just to the right of Fulton House. As well as congregational and Friday prayers, weekly study circles and extra curricular activities are held regularly. The Mosque is open to all.
Students' Union
The Students' Union manages self-service launderettes and the campus copy shop provides the best printing, design and photocopying facilities on campus. The union also houses a travel shop, café bar and Evening bar. The Union also franchises a diner serving good food at good prices, open early till late everyday during term.
First day of placement
As stated previously, students will need to contact Jane Terrett. The students will be given an induction talk which will cover everything from introduction to the site to facilities on offer.Timetables of clinical placements and teaching sessions will be given out during the induction, as will library information and internet passwords.

In case of medical emergencies please dial 333 at all times.
Procedure:
Between the hours of 9am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday, students will be answered by a switchboard operator who will immediately dial 999 to request the ambulance service. The switchboard operator will transfer the person making the emergency call to the ambulance service, listening in to the call to ensure that the following information is clear.

Counselling Service
The University operates a Counselling Service giving individual counselling to students who find that they are unable to study effectively or enjoy their life at University, due to personal or family difficulties. The Counselling Service offices are based in 'Afallon', a self contained house on the main campus. Students can contact the service on 01972 295592 or fax them on 01792 295942.
Disability
All enquiries regarding support for those with disabilities (including Dyslexia and learning difficulties) should be directed to The Disability Office, University of Wales, Swansea, Singleton Park, SA2 8PP.
For those on campus, the Disability Office is located on the fourth floor of Union House (behind Fulton House).
