The keys are available day/weekend prior to the start date and should be collected and signed for at the porters lodge. Go to reception desk at main entrance for directions to Porter's lodge. The Porters will be able to give you directions to your accommodation.

What do students need to bring:

Bedding, cutlery and cooking utensils are provided

18 bedrooms with wash basins

1 kitchen
All medical students are housed together in the same wing of the nurses home.

There is a small sitting room, and a washing machine and drier where there is a small charge.
There is a TV in the small accommodation wing. Hospital licences cover anyone who decides to bring own TV.

First day information:

Report to the Postgraduate centre at 9am on the first morning of your placement for a short induction meeting.

Car Parking:


Students will be required to park in designated staff car parks. Do not park in pay and display areas. A car parking permit will be issued during the induction meeting. If you arrive by car during the weekend prior to the start of the placement please display a note to the effect of “medical student on placement at WWGH. Will apply for permit on Monday (date)”

ID badges:

Contact Carolyn on bleep 204. Badges are issued between 2 and 3.30 pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Badges needed to access doctors residence.
