CONSERVATIVE FUTURE
You have reached the homepage of Conservative Future's University Branch! We are a policial group that holds both political and social events (See the 'Past Events' section). Currently having a nice christmas break, but we will be back up and running after the January exams, when we will be supporting our local Conservative Assembly Member candidates for May and also running some non-political gatherings!Past Events
The events that Uni branch arrange are a nice blend of political and social.Our past University branch first semester eventest included:
1. Bowling trip to the bay.
2. Meet and greet with Geoffery Howe, the former Chancellor of the Exchequer.
3. Meet and greet with current Conservative leader, David Cameron.
4. Policy forum, which included the Shadow Minister for Defence, Juliand Lewis, and the majority of Conservative Welsh Assembly candidates.
5. Curry night.
6. A visit to the Welsh Assembly, which included meeting the leader of the Conservatives in the Welsh Assembly.
7. Nine hole pub golf in the cathays pubs.
Second semester events have been:
1. General social
2. Policy Forum hosted by our very own John Moorcraft

Future Events
There are a number of eventsthat we have in the pipeline for next semester. Here is just a couple of them:1. Councillors training programme
2. Pro Evo tournament
3. Trip to the Houses of Parliament.
OUR AIMS
Activities include supporting Conservative campaigns in the local area. This has included delivering leaflets and canvassing for council and assembly elections. In 2005, we supported Gotz Mohindra, Cardiff Central's Conservative candidate in the general election.We also organise trips for our members, often with a political theme, and our social events offer the opportunity to meet other students and local political figures of similar political opinions
We've got plenty of things to be doing. Aside from the socialising, the next Assembly elections are ohnly a couple of months away, followed by council elections in 2008, and maybe a general election in 2009. For the hard core activists among you, theres going to be plenty to get stuck into in the next few years.

JoiningMembership of Uni Branch automatically includes membership of the national party, at a cost of £3 per year. You can join at any stage in the year, just send us an email with you details and we will get back to you as soon as we can!
