Save Our Unions Licence.
Every year the Students Union's late drinking and entertainment's licence comes under threat from complaints of noise and vandalism by local permanent residents.
If we lose this licence the Union would have to shut at 11pm.
We provide: 40+ sports clubs
90+ societies
Night clubs, bars and shops,
Advice center
Personal development
Transportation
Job shop and much more..
If we lose our licence we can't fund these services. Closing early would not only mean less drinking hours for you guys but effectively no more Students Union.
In reaction to this possibility we launched a major campaign to Save Our Unions Licence (or S.O.U.L.) aimed at telling you the consequences of your actions.
Please, enjoy all the activities of freshers week and the coming years at university but remember, you have a responsibility to your neighbours and to respect their rights.
The Union will take disciplinary action against any one found guilty of disturbing the peace and you may lose your NUS membership.
So, whether coming to or from the Union:
Keep the noise down and respect others property.
