What goes on at a clinic
The first step to a successful clinic is...PUBLICITY! We put up posters, do lecture shouts, send emails and generally try to spread the word.On the day of the clinic volunteers are greeted at the door by our friendly counsellors and a nice cuppa and a biscuit or two. They are given some information and an application form.
Next step, once you've found out a bit more is to fill in the application form, and once again our friendly counsellors will be around to help out.
Once the form is completed, volunteers go off for a one-to-one confidential chat with one of our counsellors. They go through the form and make sure the volunteer is able to join the register. They also address any questions the volunteer may have.
The final stage is a small blood test, which is sent off to the labs for matching.
That's it, all done!
