Welcome to the the Japanese Society, the best Japanese Society in Cardiff university and also possibly the world. In fact: if Carlsberg made Japanese Societies, they would probably copy us.

Our Aim:
Our goal is to promote Japanese culture within the Cardiff University student body and also to introduce Western culture to students of all nationalities, not just Japan. Although a small society, we make up for it with regular socials (at least fortnightly) and lots of fun. Examples of our socials include: film nights, traditional Japanese painting classes, pub quizzes, bingo nights and of course pub crawls. It is free to join, so email us to be put on the mailing list and come take part. The next social is also highlighted below if you just want to come along.
Hope to see you soon!

The Committee
Simon Wyatt (president)Has a habit of posing whenever a camera is near, and flicks his hair back occasionally. As the face and arse of the society he does the negotiating when needed.
Rob Strachan (actual president)
Old enough to tell the other members off when they don't do their work, and has the scars to prove it. Apart from that he's alright, just dont mention the Ashes.
Stacey Oliver (social secretary)
What would a society be without socials..? We dread to think, but with Stacey at the helm we may never find out. Does all the imagining then swans off afterwards, but is good for a laugh.
Mike Cowell (society treasurer)
While setting up the society we asked Mike to get a round in, he declined so we made him Treasurer. He was also born in Hokkaido and raised by wild animals in the mountains.
Helen Jenkinson (secretary)
A fountain of knowledge when it comes to modern Japan popular culture, so we run ideas past her before making you do them. Very organised and puts the rest of us to shame.
Frankie McEwan (secretary)
Kicked ass to get a film night in the business school last year and keeps the rest of us in line. Together with Helen, Frankie is indespensible except when reaching for high things.
