Engineers Without Borders, Cardiff
Welcome to Engineers Without Borders, Cardiff. What is EWB?
EWB is a national student-run charity driven by the inequalities that exist both within and between countries and the knowledge that engineering can be a tool for people to escape from the cycle of poverty. Its mission is to help people in developing communities gain access to the technology and engineering knowledge they need to improve their lives.
What does EWB do?
educates students about development work, building capacity & changing attitudesencourages & funds university research into technical solutions to Developing World problems
places students to work on projects abroad to provide host organisations with needed skills and students experience of development work
It is open to all students and is not just for engineering students.
EWB Cardiff?
What do we get up to?We organise talks and workshops on a wide range of development issues and personal experiences. Speakers include professionals, students, companies and charities.
We fundraise for EWB UK and other development charities.
During 2005 we had a residential training weekend event in February at the Centre for Alternative Technology and in June at .
Loads of great socials!
