A CAPPELLA MUSIC SOCIETY
Music Society is based around the UWC A Cappella Group, a small choir of singers dedicated to performing unaccompanied music "from madrigals to Motown". This means music from 11th Century gothic part-songs to improvised versions of pop and soul classics and everything in between: jazz, renaissance music, hymns, folk songs, spirituals, anything we can think of! Members of the society are entitled to audition for the choir and discounted trips to various cultural events (opera, concerts, gigs, etc.) and have the opportunity to visit (and perform) in places such as Cardiff's Jazz (where we've become regulars!), plus the usual social nights out to pubs, clubs and the like. We also offer support to anyone in the society who wants to start up their own group, which includes the CUSU Choral Society.
