Welcome to Postgraduate Society

We want to create an open community of postgraduate students and to make their study at Cardiff University an exciting, stimulating, and memorable experience.

In addition to fun events and trips, the society offers opportunities to network, exchange ideas, and share knowledge and experience of diverse cultures and activities.

Socials

We have a social every Thursday at 8pm in the Grad bar. So come around and relax.

Christmas Party

We will have a Christmas party on Friday 2 December in the Grad Bar to get us all into the season's mood...winter frolics and hohohos!
It is £2 for members and £3 for non-members.

Dear Students,This is the chance for you to get your opinions, your work, your talent out into the ether right now. Meat magazine is a bimonthly journal that exists as a platform for young writers, illustrators, comic-book artists, photographers, in short, any creative sort who has an opinion and wants it heard. When you're at uni, you put your talents into writing essays that get marked and then stored in your folders with the slight possibly of being unearthed before the exams. When you're out of uni, you put your foot on the bottom rung of the ladder and have to climb for years until you get a decent enough platform for people to hear your voice.This is your chance to be heard right now.Meat magazine began life while we were still at uni, and we produced three issues which went on to win two Guardian Media awards and an Emap Fanzine nomination. A year into the 'real world', we're relaunching, making the journal double the size it used to be, even more gorgeous, and even more prolific, all backed up by a spanking new website (www.meat-mag.com). We are on sale nationwide, in more Borders, Heffers, Fopps, independent galleries and bookshops than you can swing a stick at. And we want you to get involved.We're not a magazine that tells you the next 'in' place to sip your Bacardi breezer; we're not interested in reviews, air-kissing, what you wear, what you should wear, and we certainly don't have room for throwaway twenty second articles that make you wish you'd never wasted the time. We want to give our readers something to chew on, something that's actually worth the time you take to read it. So, whether you write short stories, poems, hard-core political essays, whether you take photos, draw pictures or create comic books, we want it all. We are very much of the belief that creating (doing the talent turd) is a wonderful thing, but your work only starts to shine when other people see it.
