Societies Information

There are over 120 different societies at Cardiff University, but if you have a great idea for a new one don't hesitate to come up to the fourth floor and pick up an application pack from me or Christine Evans. Although I have reached my limit for societies this year, I am happy togive you any information you may require in order to form a society for the next academic year.

Rights and Responsibilities

Your Responsibilities as a Society:

In order for you to retain society status, all of the executive and members must adhere to the union's constitution, and the following statements:

•Each society must send at least two members to the societies' council. Apologies must be sent in advance to the Societies, Postgraduate and International Officer. Be warned that failure to attend, without apologies, will result in budgets being frozen and could lead to further action being taken by the societies executive.

•All societies must attend the Students' Union's AGM. Each society is expected to send at least 5 members.

•The society will be allocated an email address. All emails will be sent to this account, and as such it must be checked regularly. Hotmail or yahoo accounts are not acceptable for correspondence, and emails must not be forwarded on to separate accounts either.

•Each society is responsible for maintaining their web pages.
