WELCOME TO THE MOTORSPORTS CLUB
If you like the idea of driving 60 mph round a track - just centimetres off the ground - then this is the club for you. We cater for all levels of drivers and design our trips to accommodate everybody's needs - whether it's Karting, Quad Biking, Ice Karting, or just Mini Motor-Biking. Our top drivers have also been successful in the British University Karting Championships, and we are always looking for new driving talent. And that's without even mentioning the infamous CUM socials! As a committee we aim to provide not only an introduction into motorsports, but training and help to progress further in your chosen discipline. Do remember that we are students like yourselves and do from time to time actually have to attend lectures, so may not be able to answer your call immediately but we will do our best to answer any queries as soon as possible. The forum is also a good place to find an answer to a query so feel free to ask.
Our Championship
As a club we take part in the British University Kart Championship (BUKC) which is a National competition between many uk universities. Eight rounds over four meets at the UK's top race circuit on karts capable of speeds in excess of 60mph makes the BUKC the ultimate adrenaline rush. With rounds in Northamptonshire, Kent, Hertfordshire and Devon the BUKC takes you all round the UK, meeting many people along the way. From novices to UK champions there is no other competition that brings people of such different levels of experience together and that makes for some very interesting racing! But karting is not all we do. We also do other activities such as quad biking, and hopefully new for this year will be mini moto's, which anyone who has seen these will know that they look like a lot of fun and we cannot wait to do this! We also go to watch other motorsport events at weekends such as the FIA GT's and also club rally events, with plans this year to pay a visit to the Rally of Great Britain.
