Manchester Tournament

Manchester tournament. One of the best tournaments of the year, where people from Uni's and clubs all over the UK are mixed up and put into random teams together.

How many people did we take? Six! - And one of them was Niblett, and we all know he doesn't count.

However the noble few made their way up north, and upon arriving at the House of Korf (home to Fro, Dave, Matt and Man Uni's Ian), were swiftly dispatched to some pub full of mutton dressed as tartier mutton to drink bitter and sit in a corner listening to 90's cheese. The night improved though, as we managed a stop off in Khan's kebab shop, home to the buy one get one free pizza deal!

On to the morning of the tournament - we were all split up into teams, and fortunes differed. Some got lucky, others didn't.

Rich got the joy of playing with the best two players at the tournament, in a team that boasted 3 national league players (one of whom was Dutch), and a member of the Man Uni first team.

Elly got stuck with Jack.

Unsurprisingly Rich's team managed a comfortable victory, with Joey and Fiona being two of the losing finalists. Elly's side managed a consolatory third, whilst Lauren (the only Cardiff Uni goal scorer other than Jack) managed a respectable sixth.

The night involved a quick trip to the site of the organised social for a few cocktails, before the masses were coerced into frequenting fifth avenue, by Fro, Jack and their partner in crime Pete. With the help of Dave, Cardiff maintained their 100% record for staying out until the death, and as far as we're aware everyone thought there was a good craic.

Friends were made, inter-university bonds strengthened (in more than one way), and once again, it was all done in the name of korf.
