First Team Match Summaryby Ramzi Barbir, dedicated to Donna's extraordinary skills, and the tenner she gave me (KAAAACHING)
Donna's level of game and tactics were incredible, she single handedly lead the team from start to finish and scored ALL the goals for Cardiff University. She was a true leader and a great example to follow for all freshers and experienced players alike.

Second Team Match Summaryby Bren Coopey
In their second game of the season Cardiff University's 2nd team proved their worth against Bristol with their first win, giving the squad a record of two unbeaten games. With a team that consisted largely of new players to the sport, most of whom were playing their first or second full game, the match was an exciting game for both players and supporters- our supporters made up of the first team who cheered when we scored, winced when we let a goal slip, winced again when Nathan fell over (twice), cheered again when he stood up (twice) and politely gave advice via Ramzi's soft-spoken tones.
The game began with Cardiff immediately seeking out goals and gaining a large majority of the attacking, which paid off when Bren hit the target with a running-in shot he gratefully received from Captain Mim. Our defence held their own when Bristol tried to answer back with a quick goal and it wasn't long before Captain Mim gave us a 2-0 lead with a shot set-up by Bren (do unto others .).
Unfortunately enthusiasm got the better of our young team and Bristol began taking control, scoring two in quick succession. Both defences tightened up as the game continued but Bristol slipped their third goal past us to gain the lead for the first time in the game. With 5 minutes before half-time, Cardiff gained an equaliser as Bren grabbed a rebound and tipped it in with a quick shot. The score remained even for the rest of the first half, despite several good attempts at both ends.
Both teams fielded a changed line-up for the second half yet the fresh players were unable to find the net for 15 minutes until Owen managed to lose his defender for a clear running-in shot he couldn't miss- and didn't. Owen's cheeky smile shouldn't have gotten any bigger, but it did when he once again found an opening and capitalised, giving us a 5-3 lead. In spite of a large amount of effort from both teams, the score didn't change for the rest of the match and Cardiff's second team earned a well-deserved victory over a battling opposition. There was only one thing left for the team to do and that was to celebrate in style- by watching our first team gain the same result against Bristol's first team.
