Society Awards

The Society awards BBQ was held on sunday 28th may, and was indeed a fun event.
Despite a weeks rain - sunday was a nice sunny day, with only a little wind to contend with.

A good turnout saw fun and frolics with food, football and...ummm...more food.
The early non-lighting BBQ scares did not dampen spirits, and before long sausages and burgers were charing nicely.
A few ecoli burgers later and various ball games broke out followed by a mass game of world cup doubles. A worse sight than the burning food was the appearance of Tim's legs, his excuse being that last years grass stains took 3 washes to get out.

The awards were an interesting affair with a few embarressed faces, but with some very proud owners of their prize t-shirts, many of which we all look forward to seeing soon.

The Prize for best dressed of the year went to Mr Craig Alliss for his lovely yellow myjoys which he has so proudly sported this year.

Drunk of the year was a fiercly contested affair as always with many names entering the frey. It is felt amongst the society that awards should be spread around, otherwise we might find that Mr D Thomas BSE would have a clean sweep. The award for drunk of the year eventually went to Mr Dylan Roberts for some very memorable evenings of drunken debauchery and shape making.

Playa of the year... well this could only ever go to one man... if only for his near knifing by some valley Chav in Risa... Some may say his antics are mere folk stories, but I for one place alot of faith in our long-haired-lover from Llantrisant (yes dave i know, but for illiteration purposes go with it)... which is why Mr David Reginald Spencer Romeo Thomas sweeps this coverted award.

And finally an award that cannot be won in a single night, but only lost, an award that demands consistency and high performance over the course of the year... The Player of the year award. Despite many people putting their own names forward for this, hoping I wouldnt notice, there was only one name which would take this t-shirt... For playing every game this season, with a win rate better than most in the US Ryder cup team, and all this with the responsibilities of captaincy...leading his team to the hallowed grounds of the Premier league where we belong... Ladies and Gentleman...Mr Chris 'Dirty' Orr!!!

And with that I thankyou all kindly and wish you all the best for the future, both on and off the course!
