About The Society
Running for over eight years, we're a well established society offering Cardiff University students the opportunity to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme. We focus mainly on organising and running expeditions but we can also provide support and advice on completing the other sections of the award through our contacts with other societies. Friendly and approachable, the exec is always on hand to advise and offer our invaluable navigational experience (we're GREAT at finding the pub!). Our weekends away are a super opportunity to meet new people and we're planning some really exciting trips this year! Bag a serious award and have some really fun experiences getting there! We'll see you at the top!
The society is aimed equally at students wanting to complete their award; those who are new to DofE and even students who want to join just for the trips.

Expeditions
This is what we do best! Through out the year we run a number of expeditions.
- Late October we run 2 weekend practices up into the Brecon Beacons. These offer a great chance to get to know the other people in the society and to get out walking in the local hills!
- Late March we run another 2 weekend practices to Dartmoor. This time it's all about practicing those all important navigation skills, and also avoiding as many bogs as possible!!!
- At Easter we venture up to Snowdonia for a qualifying expedition, and this year for the first time a week of training!
- At the beginning of the summer we run the main qualifying expedition of the year. Previously having been as far a field as Norway, last year we went to the Lake District and enjoyed it so much were off back there this year!
Never fear if you're new to this, we run training sessions through out the year in all manner of subjects, from map reading and navigation to what kit to buy and take with you on the expeditions!
Socials
Something else we do pretty well! We have a social every Tuesday of term, ranging from pub crawls and drinking game fuelled mayhem to going to the cinema and playing pool, there'll be something that we do for everyone!
We also run weekend activities including day walks and the legendary Pen-y-fan weekends where we stay in a bunk house near a mountain called Pen-y-fan and attempt to walk up it. We've failed for the past 2 years but that hasn't stopped us trying!!!

Ynglŷn â’r gymdeithas
Ers wyth mlynedd bu'r gymdeithas yn cynnig y cyfle i gymryd rhan yng nghynllun gwobr Dug Caeredin. Rydyn ni'n trefnu ac yn rhedeg teithiau yn bennaf ond trwy'n cysylltiadau gyda chymdeithasau mae'n bosib cynnig cymorth gyda rhannau eraill y wobr hefyd.
Mae gweithgor y gymdeithas yn hwyl, yn gyfeillgar, yn ddoniol ac maen nhw'n wych am ddarganfod y ffordd... i'r dafarn.
Mae'r teithiau'n gyffrous ac mae rhai arbennig iawn wedi eu cynllunio eleni. Mi welwn ni di ar y copa!
Mae'r gymdeithas ar gyfer myfyrwyr newydd sbon a'r rhai sydd yng nghanol y cynllun, yn ogystal â phobl sydd ddim yn bwriadu ymgeisio am y wobr ond sy'n hoffi gweld y byd.

Rydyn ni'n arbenigo yn y rhain! Maen nhw'n digwydd gydol y flwyddyn.
- Yn hwyr ym mis Hydref mae dwy daith i Fannau Brycheiniog; cyfle i adnabod yr ardal ac i adnabod aelodau eraill y gymdeithas.
