 Welcome to Cardiff IMG Football 2008/09

This year Cardiff IMG Football will be played at Trelai ParkPhase One of this years fixtures will commence on Wednesday 15th October 2008 and run until Wednesday 3rd December 2008Phase Two will then commence Wednesday 10th December 2009 and finish Wednesday 4th March 2009.  Phase One will consist of 4 leagues of 8 teams randomly assigned

How many teams will there be this year?

There will be a total of 32 teams this year in order to manage the Cardiff IMG Football 2008/09 efficiently and succinctly.

Why are we playing in Trelai?

Due to the condition of Pontcanna and Blackweir playing fields we have decided to utilise the playing fields at Trelai Park.  Please see the attached map for the location. We are aware that these pitches are further away than usual, however, we are investingating methods of transportation for the match fixtures.

How much will it cost?

Registration of a team for the Cardiff IMG Football 2008/09 league will cost £200.  The Athletic Union will take an initial payment of £50 once a team has been confirmed a place on Monday 6th October 2008 at the captain's meeting and a further payment of £150 by Monday 13th October 2008 to be paid at the Finance Office on the third floor of the Students' Union.

 

What does this fee cover?

This year the Athletic Union has conducted a detailed costing exercises on actual spend last year. The fee paid will cover pitch hire, a refereeing course for two members per team, a first aid course for two members per team, IMG administration, ambulance cover for 17 weeks of fixtures and will help subsidise the cost of the IMG Awards held on Wednesday 6th May in Solus between 7pm-10pm

 

How do I view the fixtures?

What are the refereeing courses and first aid courses about?

In order for each match to be refereed fairly without bias to any team, it is necessary for two members of each team to undertake referee training (date to be confirmed).  It is also necessary for two members of each team to partake in a first aid course (date to be confirmed) in order to provide for each player's health and safety in the event that the ambulance may not be present if it is preoccupied.  The cost for these courses will be covered in the registration fees.
